 About the Southwest Center for Advanced Public Health Practice

The Southwest Center for Advanced Public Health Practice is one of eight Advanced Practice Centers whose mission is to act as a learning laboratory and development center for local public health agencies nationwide. APCs develop products and services that build local and regional capacity to prepare for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies. 

Operating since January 2004 as a grant-funded unit of Tarrant County Public Health (Fort Worth, Texas), the Center has fostered emergency preparedness know-how within Tarrant County and the surrounding region and captured that knowledge in sophisticated tools and products that can be shared with local public health agencies nationwide; examples appear in the sections of this Website that address our focus areas:
